Analytical Mechanics is a university course taught in the second semester of the second year.
The overall goal of this course is to study the principles and methods of analytical mechanics for undergraduate students in Astronomy & Astrophysics who have acquired a good preparation in physics and mathematics.
Emphasis is placed on the mathematical formulation of classical mechanical systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom, including holonomic systems, Lagrangian mechanics, analytical statics, Hamiltonian mechanics, and Poisson manifolds. The course adopts a theoretically oriented approach that will allow a better understanding of relativity and quantum mechanics.
